I have been battling severe anemia since I had my son two years ago. I was anemic before that (pretty much since I was in college), but recently I was really struggling. I was finally referred to a hemotologist who diagnosed a B-12 deficiency and iron deficient anemia. My iron count was 2 when I wnet there for the first time. After four IV iron infusions, it is now 553! I am so happy. It has taken three weeks to feel the positive effects, but I feel so much better now. Really! Maybe now I will have the energy I need to chase around my toddler. Okay, maybe not, but it can't hurt!
